Charles Junior Howell, age 71 of the Marshall community, died Saturday, March 23, 2002 at the Highland District Hospital. He was born January 2, 1931 in Adams County, the son of the late Charles and Daisy Vance Howell. He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, a member of the Hillsboro V.F.W. Post 9094, a member of the F.O.E. Lodge 1161, and a retired construction worker. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Coleman Howell whom he married February 12, 1991 in Hillsboro, a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Eugene and Vickie Howell of Hillsboro, two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and J.B. Howell Wright of Prestonsburg, KY., Kimm and Reuben LeMaster of Enon, OH.; a sister Mildred Copas of Chillicothe; 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren 1 step great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathryn and Mary G. Shelton and a grandchild, Charles Ryan Howell. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 28, 2002 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Clarence Woodbridge will officiate. Burial with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Post 9094 will be in the Cynthiana Cemetery. Friends may call 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home. F.O.E. Lodge #1161 services will be held 6:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to the Highland County Humane Society & Animal Shelter, 9331 St. Rt. 124, Hillsboro, OH. 45133.
