Helen Marie Fulwider age 93 of Hillsboro died Sunday, November 16, 2003 at the Highland District Hospital. She was born December 17, 1909 in Highland County the daughter of the late Benjamin and Bertha (Harvey) Fenner. She was a former clerk at the Farmer’s & Trader’s Bank, a part time cook for the Hillsboro High School and a member of the Royal Neighbors of America. She is survived by her grandchildren, Gary Mathews of Eminence, Kentucky, Greg Mathews of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ben Mathews of New Vienna and Sandra Mathews of Hillsboro, 9 great grandchildren and one son-in-law, Ralph Mathews of New Vienna. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Wilbur VanZant and her 2nd husband Bruce Fulwider, one daughter, Shirley Marie Mathews, one brother, Dr. Walter Fenner and one ½ sister, Mary Stratton. Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Sunday, November 23, 2003 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Sid Clay will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dunn’s Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral in Hillsboro.

Helen will be sorely missed. My family and me were fortunate to have had Helen in our lives for many years through her marriage to Bruce Fulwider and her friendship with my mother and aunt, Freda Shrack and Lillian McLaughlin. Helen was a special lady and left special memories.
