Martha Taylor Ballein age 89 of Hillsboro died Saturday evening, August 28, 2004 at Heartland of Hillsboro. She was born May 28, 1915 in Pike County, Ohio the daughter of the late Frank and Alma (Loche) Taylor. Mrs. Ballein had worked with her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Eldon Schraw, owners of Pasquales Pizza in Hillsboro. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Eldon Schraw of Hillsboro, Mary Ballein of Hillsboro, sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Vivian Ballein of East Lansing, Michigan, Don and Rosalie Ballein of Hillsboro, Floyd and Samantha Ballein of Ames, Iowa, David and Sandra Ballein of Hillsboro, Kenny and Debbie Ballein of Hillsboro and John and Loretta Ballein of East Lansing, Michigan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. “Jack” Ballein on December 21, 2000 and by one son, Hugh L. Ballein, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several siblings. Services will be held 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Karl Flem will officiate. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Sardinia Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 form 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, September 4 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
