Velma Wright, age 72, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at her home. She was born December 2, 1937 near Paintsville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late John Richard and Elsie Skaggs Fraley. Velma was a devoted wife mother, and grandmother, she loved and adored her family. She was a member of the Open Fork United Baptist Church in Paintsville, Kentucky, Hillsboro Order of Eastern Star Chapter #441, and an avid gardener. She is survived by one daughter, Pamela (David) Dhume of Greenfield; sons Ronald Wright of Hillsboro, Randy (Debbie) Wright, Sr. of Greenfield, Terry Wright of Hillsboro, and Kevin (Diana) Wright of Union, Kentucky; grandchildren, Aaron (Kellie) Dhume of Greenfield, William (Katie) Dhume of North Lewisburg, Dustin (Megan) Dhume of New Holland, Randy (Jessica) Wright, Jr. of Hillsboro, Crystal (Andy) Everhart of Clarksburg, Tyler Wright of Hillsboro, Aaron (Andrea) Kellis of Chicago, Nick Wright of Hillsboro, Katie Wright of Hillsboro, Emily Wright of Hillsboro, Alexandra Wright of Union, Kentucky, and Amanda Wright of Union, Kentucky; eight great grandchildren, Becca Dhume, Abby Dhume, Luke Dhume, Audra Dhume, Ellie Dhume, Madalynn Dhume, Haylie Everhart, and Renae Wright; niece Melissa Tistole of West Portsmouth; and nephew Jeremy (Michaela) Bolton of Cedarville. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Franklin Delano Wright in 2008, and sister Priscilla Bolton. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Pastor William Dhume will officiate. Burial will follow in the Stringtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the funeral home.
