Carolyn Ann Wooton, age 55, of Bainbridge, Ohio, died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born June 10, 1947 in New Vienna, Ohio the daughter of the late John and Minnie Case Cox. She was a member of the Hillsboro Fraternal Order of Eagles #1161 Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband Elmer Wooton; three sons, Clifford Kerns, Claude (Esther) Kerns and Calvin (Shirley) Kerns, all of Peebles; one daughter Charlene (Tom) Wisecup of New Vienna; one step-son Timothy (Tara) Wooton of Springfield; one step-daughter Shirley (Kenny) Davis of Springfield; four brothers, George (Renee) Cox of Texas, Bob Cox of Hillsboro, Dale (Wilma) Cox of Bainbridge and Donnie Cox of Greenfield; four sisters, Dorothy Arledge of Hillsboro, Gladys Rader of Columbus, Pauline (Wayne) Arledge of Hillsboro and Helen Hise of Hillsboro; grandchildren Misty, Cristy and Jonda Irwin, Calvin, Lena, Sharon, Quintin, Rachel and Jerrica Kerns, May Shumate and Candy Stone; one great grandchild Charlie Workman; six step-grandchildren, Charlie and James Wooten, Tisha and Tasha Robinson, Tanesha and Dillon Davis, two step-great grandchildren, Ranee and Damon Robinson; and special friends William and Rose Wooton of Hillsboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Lee Burns, two daughters Cathleen Shumate and Connie Kerns; one sister Nellie Cox; one brother Paul Cox; and step granddaughter Theresa Gail King. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Brother Roger Cummings will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home. Eagle Services will held at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. I'm terribly sorry for your family's loss. I was just wondering if a Clarence Leslie Arledge is related in any way. He was my grandfather, and after looking up my mothers name online I found this site. If so, can someone please write me back. My mother's family is from Chillicothe, and Columbus.
