William T. “Bill” Woolard, age 77 of Hillsboro died Monday, February 17, 2003 at the Highland District Hospital.  He was born March 13, 1925 in Leesburg, Ohio the son of Ralph and Pearl (Rowe) Woolard. Bill was a police officer in the City of Hillsboro serving as Chief of Police for over 25 years.  He was a veteran of World War II, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio State Sheriff and Police Officer’s Associations, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161, Bainbridge American Legion Post # 14, the Highland Lodge #38  F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati and  was a life member  of the AmVets Post # 61 and the V.F.W. Post #9094. He is survived by his mother, Pearl Wise of Hillsboro, a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene (Tom) Coleman of Wilmington, son, Thomas Edward “Ed” (Teresa VanHoose) Woolard of Bonita Springs, FL, step-sons and step-daughter-in-law, James E. “Jim” (Dawn) Ryan of Naples, FL, Jerald Lee “Jerry” Ryan of Bonita Springs, FL.  sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Ann Pitzer of Hillsboro, Betty Jane  (Bob) Tommasino of Los Angeles, CA, a brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Etta) Woolard of Augusta, GA, a half-sister and brother-in-law, Georgeanna (Robert) Saunders of Miamisburg, half-brothers and sister-in-law, Charles (Lee Ann) Wise of Bainbridge and Earl “Butch” Wise of Hillsboro, six grandchildren, Robin (John) Cloud, Brian Coleman, Tracy and Mark Rupp and Rachel and Sarah Ryan and two great grandchildren, Austin and Brayden Cloud. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22 at 10 a.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Masonic Services and Scottish Rite Ring services will be held at 7:45 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

It saddened me to hear of Bills passing, I know that at times like this it may seem God is far away, he isn't, he is just a prayer away, There are no tears in heaven, only joy and gladness, and rejoicing for the arrival of your Dad, Grandpa, Brother, and Friend If there is anything I could do, please, just ask.
