Edward M. “Soapy” Wills age 86 of Wolcott, Connecticut, formerly of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Wolcott. He was born August 27, 1923 in Vigo, Ohio the son of the late George K. and Alma (Hinson) Wills. Mr. Wills had retired after thirty years of service from the Proctor and Gamble Company. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with one star, the American Area Medal and the Victory Medal. He was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 361, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161 and the VFW Post 9094. After Mr. Wills retired, he and his wife, Wilma made there home in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida and in 2008 moved to Wolcott, Connecticut. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wilma (Preston) Wills, one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Gary Breeze of Waynesville, Ohio, one son, John Wills of Wolcott, Connecticut and one grandson, Jeremy Wills of Wolcott, Connecticut. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 at the New Vienna IOOF Cemetery. Leo Kuhn will officiate. Military honors will be presented at the graveside by the Highland County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the New Vienna Church of Christ Annex in New Vienna, Ohio. The Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family. Dear Wilma and family' It was with sorrow that we read of the passing of Soapy.Not only did I know and like Soapy very much but the whole Wills family have been special in our life. Yes your family John and his Sister but Georgia Mae and Alma as well as their parents.
