Richard D. Willis, age 72, of Highland, died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the Highland District Hospital. He was born August 18, 1934 in Greene County, the son of the late Floyd and Margaret (Jacobs) Willis. He retired in 1996 from Mac Tools in Sabina after over forty-one years of service. He attended the Highland United Methodist Church. He was a car fanatic, and loved Fords in particular. Enjoying and caring for his cars with his family was his passion. On August 19, 1955, in Leesburg, he married Dora (Clay) Willis, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Paula and her husband Dirk Simmons of Leesburg, three grandchildren, Tabitha (Lee Brokaw) Simmons of Highland, Chase Simmons of Leesburg, Heather Simmons of Leesburg, two great grandchildren, Skyler Brokaw of Highland and Brock Brokaw of Highland, three sisters, two brothers, a very special aunt and uncle, Milly and Martin Jacobs of Bowersville, a brother-in-law Henry Clay of Washington State, and a sister-in-law, Louella Williamson of Greenfield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ellen Willis. Funeral services for Mr. Willis will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg. Rev. Mary Cyrus will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg.
