Robert Lee “Bob” Williams, age 71, of the Allensburg Community, died Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. He was born March 30, 1934 in Greenfield, Ohio the son of the late Catherine Frost Hakes. He was a 1953 Graduate of Belfast High School, then went on to work for Schaefer’s Super Market in Hillsboro and drove a milk truck for Raymond Phillips. In 1955 he became a member of the Armed Services serving in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Essex Aircraft Carrier. He was Honorably Discharged from the Navy in 1959. In 1998 he retired from the Cincinnati Milacron Company in Wilmington after 33 years of service. He is survived by his wife Madeline “Carol” Brown Williams, to whom he married October 23, 1959; daughter Cynthia “Cindy” Williams of Wilmington; brother Larry (Liz) Hakes of Walkertown, Indiana; foster brother Terry Elmore of Hillsboro; foster sister Kay Elmore Brown of Florida; several nieces and nephews; one special granddaughter Taylor Lee Turner of Lynchburg; and many very special friends. In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his foster parents Virgil and Marge Elmore and his foster brother Larry Elmore. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Davis-Turner Funeral Home, Lynchburg. John Foster of the Dodsonville Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Troutwine Cemetery where the Highland County Honor Guard will accord Military Honors. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
