Carolyn Kay (Richards) Williams, age 71, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012. She was born April 20, 1940 in Hillsboro, Ohio the daughter of the late Wendell W. and Jenniebelle (Evans) Richards. She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School Class of 1958 and attended Miami University before going to work for Northwest Orient Airlines in New York City. She moved to Raleigh in 1966, retiring from Crown Zellerbach where she was an accountant for many years. Kay was a great supporter of the arts, particularly jazz, and a devoted volunteer to Hospice and Meals on Wheels. A very positive person, she loved life and demonstrated great courage in her battle with cancer. Survivors include her son, Matthew Kressierer of Garrettsville, OH, one sister, Mary Ann (Richard) Nicol of Hillsboro, OH, one grandson, Joshua Kressierer of Garrettsville, OH, two nephews, Scott Nicol of Hillsboro, OH, Craig Nicol of Blue Ridge, VA, and a great niece, Elizabeth Nicol of Hillsboro. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607 or Prospect Cemetery Association, c/o Richard Nicol, 5680 State Route 73, Hillsboro, OH 45133. Celebrations of Life will be held in both Raleigh and Hillsboro at later dates. The Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family.
Dear Mary Ann & Family... I was saddened to hear of Kay's passing, but I know she is finally at peace with Our Lord, even though she fought a valiant battle.
