John S. “Jack” Wilkin age 83 of Hillsboro died Monday, May 29, 2006 at the Mercy Hospital in Anderson. He was born February 7, 1923 in Rainsboro, Ohio the son of the late Guy E. and Eva (Cameron) Wilkin. Mr. Wilkin had worked for the Graybar Company for twenty-five years and had later been self-employed as a manufacturer’s representative. He was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, was a 26 year member of the Board of Directors of the Leesburg Federal Savings Bank and was presently serving as Chairman of the Board, a member of the Hillsboro B.P.O. E. # 361, Greenfield F. & A.M. Lodge #318, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Syrian Shrine and was a 1941 graduate of the Greenfield McClain High School. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Kathryn (Dunlap) Wilkin, two nieces, Wanda Lucas of Wilmington, Mary Ann Bonds of Fremont, California, three nephews, David Wilkin of Wilmington, Thomas Young of Madison, Wisconsin, Robert Young of Lexington, Kentucky, seven great nieces and nephews and seven great great nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church. Reverend Charles Shonkwiler will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
