Mae Wilkin
age 78 of
Hillsboro died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the Highland District Hospital.
She was born April 3, 1928 near Fayetteville, Ohio the daughter of the late
Charles and Gladys Woodruff Dean. Mrs. Wilkin was a member of St. Mary Catholic
Church in Hillsboro and a life member of the VFW Post 9094 Auxiliary. She had
worked for several years for the RobertShaw Company and had done upholstery work
in her home. She is survived by one daughter, Shirley (Rick) Wilkin of
Hillsboro, one son, James Stephen Hook of Hillsboro, one stepson, Shawn (Sue)
Wilkin of Hillsboro, six grandchildren, Tanya (Pat) Hendrix, Kelly (Scott Yankey)
Wilkin, Don (Stacey) Hook, Joe Hook, Adam Wilkin, Brendan Wilkin, two great
grandchildren, one sister, Frances (Jack) Detmer of Cincinnati, one brother,
James (Loretta) Dean of Hillsboro and several nieces and nephews. In addition to
her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin “Ick” Wilkin on
May 17, 1991 and by two sons, Carl Anthony Hook and Mark Hook, two brothers
Lawrence and Ralph Dean and one sister, Iva Quallen. Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated by Father Mike Paraniuk at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30th
at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Barnes
Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the
Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Prayers will be said at 5:00 p.m. at the
funeral home.
