Laurence (Larry) Emory Walker Sr.,  age 78, of Stockbridge, GA, formerly of the Highland and Ross County area, died Saturday, August 13, 2005.  He was born on November 13, 1926 in Ross County, the son of  the late Emory Laurence and Madge Lenore (Woods) Walker.  Mr. Walker retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons with over twenty-two years of service.  Prior to this, Mr. Walker was a farmer and enjoyed fishing and hunting.  The last ten years have been his most enjoyable, being able to spend time with his two grandsons in baseball and following Ohio State football.  Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Anna, of Stockbridge, GA., two sons and daughter-in-law Larry E. Walker Jr. of Destin, Florida and Tim L. and Lisa Walker of McDonough, GA., two grandsons Chad and Cole Walker, a brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Sally Rinehart of Greenfield, a brother-in-law, Kenny Stevens Sr. of Leesburg, five nephews, Kenny (Cathy) Stevens Jr. of Leesburg, Randy Rinehart of California, Thomas Rinehart of Columbus, Brian Rinehart of Greenfield and Jeffrey Rinehart of Columbus, a niece, Joyce Stevens of Kentucky.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker is preceded in death by a sister, Juel Stevens.  Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2005 at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg.  Pastor John Fitzgerald will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg where military honors will be accorded by the Highland County Honor Guard.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg.  For more information or to send condolences to the family please visit www.turnerfuneralhomes.cc.
