Francis I. “Frank” Vergamini, age 93, of Hillsboro, died Monday, March 24, 2003 at Heartland of Hillsboro.  He was born November 7, 1909, in Castelnouva Digarfanana, a Province of Lucca, Italy, the son of the late Francesco and Fiora (Lazzuri) Vergamini.  He immigrated to the United States when he was a young child.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro, and was the Foundry Superintendent at the C.S. Bell Company in Hillsboro for over 50 years.   He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Emilia (Difalco) Vergamini, to whom he married June 21, 1930 in Seneca Falls New York; three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Kathleen Vergamini, of Tallahassee, Florida, Thomas and Sue Vergamini, of Crescent Springs, Kentucky, and George and Nancy Vergamini, of Centerville, Ohio; one daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Allan Miller of Centerville, Ohio; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Vergamini of Hillsboro, and Shirley Vergamini of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Nello and Frances Vergamini, of Auburn, New York, and Louis and Anna Vergamini of Seneca Falls, New York;  two sisters and one brother-in-law, Margaret and James Malley, of Maplewood, Minnesota, and Ada Addona of Seneca Falls, New York; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Stephen Vergamini, one sister Ida Suffredini, and two brothers John and Bernard Vergamini.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2003 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Reverend Stanley Luehrmann celebrant.  Graveside interment services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29 at the Union Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.  Visitation will be 2:30-4:30 p.m. Friday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Clinton County, 61 E. I'm so sorry that I can't be with the family this weekend. There isn't anyplace that I'd rather be.

I'm so lucky to have been able to know and party with Ite on so many occasions - from the first meeting with him calling me "Stupid" for buying him German beer to the many times of financing his trips with "Soda Rum" games.

Give everyone my regards and I'll be thinking of you all.
