Verda A. Turner age 92 of Lynchburg died Saturday morning, April 2, 2005 at the Laurels of Hillsboro. She was born April 17, 1912 in Lynchburg, Ohio the daughter of the late Fred and Mary Elizabeth Winter Allen. Mrs. Turner had been a secretary for many years at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton and was a member of the Lynchburg United Methodist Church. She is survived by four nieces, Anita Freeland Spassoff of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Vada T. Eaglin of Delaware, Claire T. Thompson of Dayton, Joyce T. Harsock of Lebanon, three nephews, Frederick Allen (Becky) Freeland of Trophy Club, Texas, Raymond (Ava Lee) Turner of Wilmington, Roger (Judy) Turner of Lynchburg, Special Friends, Glenn and Mary Brose of Lynchburg, several great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter B. Turner one March 1, 1971, one sister, Winifred A. Freeland, one brother, Walter F. Allen and one nephew, Richard Turner. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Pastor Bill Biza will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery.
