John W. Swesey age 88 of Leesburg, Ohio died Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at his residence. He was born September 30, 1913 in Crown Point, Indiana the son of the late Charles E. and Ida May (Crawford) Swesey. Mr. Swesey was a retired maintenance worker with the Florida Institute of Technology, was the owner and operator of the Wellington Inn in Wellington, Ohio from 1959-1960, along with his wife had owned and operated the Leesburg Peddler in Leesburg Ohio, enjoyed refinishing furniture and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Lois (Miller) Swesey whom he had married in June 1965, daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Les Sumner of Ft. Pierce, Florida, Mary Ellen and Harry Cox of Blairsville, Georgia, Linda Johnson of Highland, son and daughter-in-law, Robert Allen and Kay Swesey of Keystone Heights, Florida, ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, one brother Harold Swesey and one sister, Marian Florence, preceded him in death. Mr. Swesey had request that his body be gifted to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine for medical research. There will be no services.
