Nelson R. Snapp, age 64, of Hillsboro, died Friday, April 22, 2005 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on January 31, 1941 in Fleming County, Kentucky, the son of the late Lindley R. and Gene B. Snapp Gregory. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve and attended the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Snapp worked for National Cash Register Corporation, Mid-Ohio Chemical and most recently, the Ohio Department of Transportation with over 14 years of service. He was a life member of AMVETS Post 61, a past member of Miami Valley Four Wheelers Club, a past member of the Ohio Valley Antique Machinery Association, past president of the Highland County 4-H Committee, past advisor for the Kids-A-Plenty 4-H club, had served as a member of the Highland County Senior Fair Board for 19 years, and in 1993 was inducted into the Highland County Fair Board Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife Kimberly J. Snapp, of Hillsboro, a son and daughter-in-law Daniel N. and Teresa K. Snapp of Hillsboro, a daughter and son-in-law Rebecca J. and Chris Anway of Urbana, a step-daughter Dawn M. Talbott, two step-sons Jan. M. Talbott and Tyler M. Talbott, all of Hillsboro, a sister and brother-in-law Linda and Gene Davis of Hillsboro, a brother and sister-in-law Chet and Kathy Gregory also of Hillsboro, two grandsons Tyler Snapp and Ethan Snapp of Hillsboro, a granddaughter Rylea R. Anway of Urbana and his dog, Willie. In addition to his parents, Mr. Snapp is preceded in death by a daughter Deborah E. Snapp, and a sister Emily Snapp. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. Pastors Tom Zile and Kraig Walker will officiate. The Highland County Honor Guard will accord military honors following the funeral at the church. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church.
