Bertha Mae Smith age 84, of Hillsboro died Thursday, October 9, 2003 at the Highland District Hospital. She was born December 12, 1919 in Hamilton, Ohio the daughter of the late Leroy and Virginia Hall Johnson. She was a life time member of the Shamrock Athletic Club in Dayton. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Margaret Smith of Hillsboro, Mike and Donna Smith of Mowrystown, Sean Smith of Hillsboro, daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Rieger of Kettering, Kathy and Alan Fulkner of West Chester, Shelley and Robbie Hibberd of Miamisburg, Ohio, 16 grandchildren, Chad, Erica, Monica, Morgan, Sean, Danielle, Rusty, Joey, Charlie, Howie, Sean, Sylvia, Rachel, Burton, Tracy and Stacy, 10 great grandchildren, Bethany, Jessica, Kayla, Starr, Katie, Nicholas, Dominic, Logan, Jacob, and Kealey. Along with her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Russell Smith on November 25, 1986, a son Eddie Smith, a brother, Robert Johnson and three sisters, Margaret Forman, Mary Jane Hampleman and Hazel Neal. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
