Roy Smith, age 82 of Georgetown, formerly of the Lynchburg area died Monday, February 18, 2002, at his residence. He was born December 6, 1919 in New Vienna, Ohio the son of the late Roy C. and Henrietta “Etta” Rosenberger Smith. He was a farmer for over 20 years and formerly employed by Highland Stone and Clinton Construction Co. He was also a member of the Highland County Senior Citizens and the Ohio Historic Bridge Association. On March 6, 1937 in Liberty, Indiana he married Edna Walker Smith who survives. Along with his wife, he is survived by a son, Ralph D. Smith of Lynchburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Keith Rankin of New Vienna, Margann Lovedahl of Gainesville, FL., Jeane and George Dean of Mt. Orab; one sister, Alice Louise Brower of Eaton, OH., 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 7 great, great-grandchildren. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Helen Snider, two brothers, Raymond Joseph and Lester Leroy Smith, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Rankin, two grandsons, Steven Roy Lovedahl and Jay Alan Rankin, and a great grandson, Dokota Ethan Pitzer. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Pastor Scott Hennig and Pastor Mike Barthel will co-officiate. Friends may call 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
