Clarence Greenwood Smith age 95 of Wilmington, Ohio died Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Wilmington Extended Care Center. He was born August 28, 1908 in Blanchester, Ohio the son of the late Ulysses Grant and Daisy Mae (Greenwood) Smith. He was a retired farmer and produce clerk and a member of the Blanchester Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Marie Tumbleson Smith whom he had married on February 14, 1998, two daughters and a son-in-law, Anna Mae Maxfield of Blanchester, Thelma and Jack Cooper of Midland, one daughter-in-law, Sue Smith of Goshen, nine grandchildren, Steven Maxfield of Monroe, Marcia Cornett of Middletown, Philip Maxfield of Monroe, Marvin Maxfield of Lynchburg, Cindy Smith of California, Belinda Pape of Cincinnati, Kevin Smith of Pickerington, Jacki Andrew of Midland, Jim Cooper of Wilmington, sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Vance Smith on July 5, 1963, they had been married on November 26, 1930 and by one son, Eugene “Gene “ Smith. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Blanchester IOOF Cemetery. J.L. Runk will officiate.
