Bonnie L. Smith age 64 of Lynchburg, Ohio died Sunday, June 23, 2002 at the Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born May 17, 1937 in Monticello, Kentucky the daughter of the late Joseph Francis and Mertyle (Shelton) Atkinson. She had retired from Heartland of Hillsboro where she had worked as a nursing assistant. She was a member of the Samantha Friends Church. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Smith whom she had married on September 17, 1954 in Albany, Kentucky, two sons, Gary and his wife Janet Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, Larry and his wife Brenda Smith of Hillsboro, two daughters, Dianne and her husband Steve Walker of Hillsboro, Nancy Grooms and her fiancé Ben Vance of Leesburg, six grandchildren, Shannon, Mandy and Tyler Dehass and Hannah Walker all of Hillsboro and Miranda and Stephanie Grooms of Leesburg, two sisters, Alene Catron and Pauline Lee of Monticello, Kentucky, brothers, Willard and Othie Atkinson of Monticello, Kentucky and Eugene Atkinson of New Castle, Indiana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Smith, one sister, Josephine Hicks and five brothers, Odie, Chester, Junior F., Howard and John L. Atkinson. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Rev. Robert K. Blaine will officiate. Burial will follow in the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
