Jerry L. Shearer, age 66, of Hillsboro, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at Heartland of Hillsboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 2, 1943 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of the late Doyle and Ada Rasmussen Shearer. Jerry was a loving and caring father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed socializing at Magee’s, Frisch’s and Bob Evans and was a former member of the Hillsboro Moose Lodge #2402. He is survived by his wife Rusti Schnoblen Shearer; two children, Chad Shearer of Nashville, and Julia (Ruben) Shearer-Cruz of Washington; two grandchildren Cesar and Solana Cruz; sister Judy (Max) Thomas of Lima; brother Wally (Gerry) Shearer of Lima; and step-children Dan (Tonya) Danzer of Otter Lake, Michigan and Colleen (Joe) Matthews of Lapeer, Michigan. According to his wishes, Mr. Shearer was cremated. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Private committal services will be held privately in Lima, Ohio at the convenience of the family.
