George William Roush, age 80, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, February 16, 2006 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.   He was born May 21, 1925, in West Union, Ohio the son of the late Lloyd Shipley and Ethel Marie (Bess) Roush.  He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.  He was a member of the Lynchburg United Methodist Church where he had held the offices of Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent for 13 years, and Chairman of the Administration Board.  He was also Trustee of the Wilmington District of the United Methodist Church.  He graduated from West Union High School in 1942, then from Wilmington College in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  He then received his Master of Arts degree in School Administration from Ohio University.  His entire career in education was spent at the Lynchburg and Lynchburg-Clay School District.  He started as a teacher and coach, then became Principal before becoming School Superintendent.  He was a member of the Ohio School Superintendents Association; Ohio Retired Teachers Association; Highland County Retired Teachers Association; founding member of the Southern Hills Athletic Conference; Trustee and Treasurer of the Highland County Library Board; 50-Year member of Lynchburg Lodge #178 F. & A.M.; Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati; and Honorary Member of many School and Social organizations.  He is survived by his wife June (Daye) Roush, to whom he married December 29, 1948 in West Union, Ohio; son Randy and his wife Charlene Roush of Hillsboro; daughter Jenny and her husband Tim Penn of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, April and her husband Jared Harsha of Cincinnati, Tara Penn of Hillsboro, and Ashley Penn of Hillsboro; two great grandchildren Gavin and Mallory Harsha; and one sister June and her husband Don Schultz of Batavia.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dan and Clyde Roush and one sister Geneva Stebel.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2006 at the Lynchburg-Clay Middle School.  Bill Biza of the Lynchburg United Methodist Church will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery where the Highland County Honor Guard will accord full military honors.  Visitation will be 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2006 at the Lynchburg-Clay Middle School, with Masonic services at 8:00 p.m. provided by Lynchburg Masonic Lodge #178 and Scottish Rite ring services by the Valley of Cincinnati.  Donations may be made to the Lynchburg-Clay Athletic Boosters, for the Athletic Sports Complex, P.O.
