Andy Robinson, age 80, of Hillsboro, died Friday, December 16, 2005 at the Highland District Hospital. He was born December 5, 1925 in Hamilton, Ohio the son of the late Dewey and Lillie Lewis Robinson. Andy was a wonderful father and companion. He was a heavy equipment operator, retiring after 42 years of service to the Highland County area. Andy was a pioneer and specialist in Heli-arc Welding; he developed the procedure of packaging and shipping school bus parts for assembly of the school bus overseas. He was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1161, Hillsboro. He, along with one of his brothers, formerly owned and operated Robinson Brothers Sawmill. He also formerly owned the “RR” Bar in Hillsboro. Andy was an avid card player, world traveler, mushroom and game hunter. He took great pride in raising dogs for his favorite kind of hunting, “Coon Hunting”. He is survived by his special companion, Bea Rooker of Marshall; five children, Sharon (Hershel) Venable of Daytona Beach, Florida, Geraldine Creech of Ormond Beach, Florida, David (Debbie) Robinson of Richmond, Indiana, Carol Ann (Hubert) Kennedy of Memphis, Tennessee, and Andrea Taylor of Hillsboro; three brothers, Hurstel Robinson of Hillsboro, Arnold Robinson of Hillsboro, and Ike Robinson of St. Petersburg, Florida; two sisters Lula Hayes and Ollie Reeves, both of Richmond, Indiana; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister Florence Jenkins. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Brother Jeff Griffin of the Northview Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Fraternal Order of Eagles Services will be held 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
