Merrill A. Ravenscraft age 75 of Hillsboro died Tuesday evening May 11, 2004 at his residence. He was born January 25, 1929 in Cynthiana, Kentucky. Mr. Ravenscraft was a farmer and welder. He was a former advisor of the Farm Bureau Youth Council, Tractor Club Advisor, member of the New Petersburg Supper Club, an avid hunter and fisherman, a local welder, a McClain sports fan, a motorcycle and dune buggy enthusiast and actively supported Paint Township. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Harris) Ravenscraft whom he had married on November 27, 1952 in Hillsboro, one daughter, Beverly (Clay) McPherson of Leesburg, son Randy (Tracy Anderson) Ravenscraft of Hillsboro, three grandchildren, Chad and Paul McPherson of Leesburg and Stephanie Anderson of Hillsboro. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Gilboa Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral home in Hillsboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
