Robert F. “Bob” Rammel, age 82, of Lynchburg, died peacefully surrounded by his family at his home Saturday morning, January 21, 2006. He was born on October 20, 1923, in Portsmouth, the son of the late John Frederick and Frances (Reveal) Rammel. He was a very active member of the Lynchburg First Church of Christ and retired from Cincinnati Milacron after thirty-two years of service. Bob retired in 1984 from the Lynchburg Volunteer Fire Department after thirty-five years of active service. He was a sixty-year member of the Lynchburg Masonic Lodge #178 and was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati. On March 5, 1949, he married Virginia (Gibson) Rammel, in Lynchburg, who survives. He is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Joyce Rammel of Hillsboro, two granddaughters, Renee (Chris) Karnes of Hillsboro and Sarah (Todd) Fauber of Leesburg, a great granddaughter, Chloe Grace Rammel of Hillsboro, three sisters Margene Moorehead of Lynchburg, Doris (Gene) Soale of Franklin, Betty Evans of Washington Court House, two brothers, Donald Rammel of Xenia and Paul (June) Rammel of Xenia and two sisters-in-law, Millie Rammel of Cincinnati and Mazie Rammel of Lynchburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mitchell Rammel and William Rammel. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Rick Godlove and Ed Bousman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg, with Masonic services and Scottish Rite ring service at 7:45 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Lynchburg First Church of Christ, Short and Sycamore, Lynchburg, Ohio 45142.
