Leona Margaret Powell age 86 of Hillsboro died Monday, December 12, 2005 at the Heartland of Hillsboro. She was born May 10, 1919 in Leesburg, Ohio the daughter of the late Homer Bailey and Idalee Maude (Wright) Smithson. Mrs. Powell attended the Hillsboro Church of God. She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Mae (James) Rhoads of Hillsboro, Mary (Leland) Jones of Wilmington, Ruth Pauley of Hillsboro, two sons, Curtis (Gerri) Powell of Dodsonville, John (Donna) Powell of New Vienna, thirty-two grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Harry Powell on December 3, 1972, two sisters, Geneva Smithson and Lenabelle Hill and three grandchildren, Karen Deschryver, Christopher Jones and Randy Rhoads. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. John Maggard will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hightop Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until time of services at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
