Dear friends; There are so many memories about Wendell that it is hard to enumerate them. One stands out in particular. It is when he and I were roomates in Highland District Hospital. He probably saved my life by calling the nurse as I had a blood clot from surgery and I was unaware of the situation until Wendell called the nurse. The room became full of people and I was treated by Dr. Sharkey and a flock of nurses. He always said when he heard me groan he knew I had a problem. His life was an example for all of us. What a great legacy he has left. Skip and Chrys

I STARTED WORKING FOR WENDELL WHEN I WAS JUST 15 YEARS OLD. I WORKED PART-TIME THROUGH A PROGRAM AT THE HILLSBORO HIGH SCHOOL AND WENDELL WAS MY FIRST BOSS. HE WAS A REALLY NICE PERSON AND I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT I WAS ABLE TO KNOW HIM. MY HUSBAND, LARRY ROADES, WAS THE ONE WHO DROVE BETTY OUT TO CALIFORNIA, AND THE LAST TIME I SAW WENDELL WAS THE COOKOUT YOUR MOTHER HAD FOR BETTY BEFORE SHE LEFT TOWN. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.
