
Viola M. Penquite age 86 of Lynchburg died Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at the Laurels of Hillsboro. She was born August 22, 1916 in Webertown, Ohio the daughter of the late Martin and Margaret (Minzler) Deininger. Mrs. Penquite and her husband John Robert had owned and operated Penquite’s Grocery in Hillsboro from 1960 until 1976. She was confirmed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lynchburg on April 17, 1938. She was a Charter Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 1161 in Hillsboro. She is survived by one niece, Jennifer (Stan) Markey of Lynchburg, three nephews, James (Brenda) Deininger of Lynchburg, Alfred Deininger of Columbus, David (Ginny) Deininger of Fayetteville, one sister-in-law, Pauline Deininger of Lynchburg and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, John Robert Penquite on October 23, 1989 and by two brothers, Roy and Johnson Deininger. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
