Lucille
Pendleton,
age 97, died
Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Lodge Care Center in Loveland. She was born April
17, 1913, in Boyd County (Kilgore) Kentucky, one of ten children born to the
late Edward and Pearlina (Tufts) Thomas. She was a devoted and loving wife,
mother and grandmother. She is survived by seven of her nine children, Bette
Witt of Madison, Ohio; Phyllis Hall and her husband Ron of Columbus; Mollie
Hamilton and her husband Nelson of Hillsboro and Lake Placid, Florida; James
Edward Pendleton of Inverness, Florida; Chris Hockaday and her husband David of
Wilmington; Sherron Graswald and her husband Henry of Blairsville, Georgia; and
Donald K. Pendleton and his wife Myra of Lynchburg; three sisters, Evelyn
Brouillette of Shelby, Ohio; Alice Short of Kitts Hill, Ohio; Phyllis Hutchinson
of Olive Hill, Kentucky; a brother, Maurice Thomas of Grove City and many
grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition
to her parents and two children, she was preceded in death by her husband of
fifty-one years, James Ira Pendleton, who passed away November 26, 1981, a
granddaughter, Shelly Hopkins, as well as two sisters, Opal Shockey and Virginia
Thorn, and three brothers, Edward Thomas, Jr., Charles Thomas and Junior Norris
Thomas. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Friday, June 11, 2010 at the
Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Leo Kuhn will officiate. Burial will
follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m.
until the time of the service at 12:00 noon on Friday at the funeral home.
