To all who loved Steve, let me offer my heartfelt condolences. I liked Steve very much from when I first met him. He was a kind person and deserving of respect.
Butch and Sharma, Caitlin let me know of Steve's death. I know he has been sick for some time now. He will always be my favorite repairman. Whenever I needed a new washer or dryer, Steve would make the trip back to Hillsboro, get what I needed and bring it back to the house, even though we lived 15 miles out. My favorite story (and Danny Collins') is when they brought my washer and dryer when we first moved to our house. We didn't have a front porch yet, and Steve and Danny had to carry them up the basement steps. They both gave me the devil whenever they had to come to our house. He will be sadly missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Shonee & Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. May God surround you and find comfort in him. God bless. Love and prayers.
Steve and I were good friends in our very early school years. He has fought the good fight for a long, long time. He leaves a lot of friends and a fine family. Steve made a difference and will be missed by all. May he RIP...Howard Grabill and all other members of the "HHS Class of 1963".

So sorry to learn & read of Steve passing. It has been almost 50 years since I last saw Steve. I remember going to Rocky Fork Lake with him & taking him to Pike County. We stopped at an old country store to get a soda pop & bag of potato chips. The clerk asked Steve if he wanted a poke. Steve looked at him funny & said no. When we got outside Steve asked me why that man wanted to fight. I laughed saying, "We are in hillbilly country & a poke means a paper bag or sack." I have told that story over the years & remembered Steve fondly. My Deepest Sympathy to his family. An old Fairview neighbor. Sandra (Hawk) Tolle

TO Butch, Greg and family of Steve Nartker, I was saddened to hear of your loss of Steve, and wanted to express my heartfelt sympathy. It was a great pleasure to know Steve and be a part of his caregiving team. Theres never words that can take away the pain of losing someone you love, but I pray that the Lord will bring you all the comfort and peace in your heart that only he can. I will remember each of you in my prayers. Greg, I worked with you at HDH long ago in 1987 when I began my 20 years career there in Surgery. I remember asking Steve if he was related to a "Greg" that used to work at HDH, and he ask if he was a good looking guy, and I said as I recall he sure was. I will never forget the chuckle he gave me and said, Yep he looks just like me!!! I never had the pleasure of meeting the rest of you, except Butch through my knowing Sharma from HDH.PLease accept my heartfelt sympathy at this time.
We were really saddened to hear of Steve's passing, but now he is no longer suffering or in a "bad way." He installed about everything we ever purchased from Collins Appliance. He was always in good humor and loved a good joke! He would do anything he could to help. May God comfort all of you in your loss.
