James Edward “Buck” Morgan age 79 of Lynchburg, died Saturday morning, October 5, 2002 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. He was born June 2, 1923 in Careytown the son of the late James and Mabel A. Barnes Morgan. He was a retired carpenter, a member of the Church of Christ in Mt. Washington, a W.W.II U.S. Navy veteran, a former member of the Lynchburg Lions Club, and a member of the American Pool Association League. He is survived by his wife Betty Brewer Morgan whom he married February 15, 1944 in Hillsboro, one son and daughter-in-law, James R. and Pat Morgan of Allensburg, two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Jim McDonald of Pricetown and Bonnie Lou and Doug Stockwell of Lynchburg, two brothers, Bob and Ray Morgan both of Hillsboro, one sister, Louise Moore of Xenia, 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. Along with his parents; one brother, Pete Morgan and two sisters, Bessie Clonch and Margaret Cluxton, preceded him in death. Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 11:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of service.
