Ruth A. Minter age 91 of Hillsboro died Monday evening, April 26, 2004 at the Laurels in Hillsboro. She was born September 13, 1912 in Hillsboro the daughter of the late Starling Smith and Vernice B. (Haynes) Carr. Mrs. Minter had worked for the Crosley-Avco Company for several years. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Lora White of Greenfield, Gene and Carol White of Hillsboro two stepdaughters, Marilyn Kennedy and Martha Whitlauf both of Cincinnati, eight grandchildren, Brenda Grieves, Robert White and Jennifer Elliott all of Washington C.H., Teri Gordon of Smithville, Virginia, Michael White of Trotwood, Allison Allen of Wilmington, Katie Ross of Hillsboro and John A. White of Fairview Heights, Illinois, thirteen step grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and one sister, Lucille Wright of Folsom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Minter in 1978, three sisters, Flotoa Sherlow, Lola Maconko and Eva McQuitty, two stepdaughters, Joan Epp and Nellie Mathis and one stepson, Ralph Minter Jr. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Marland Penwell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sugar Tree Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
