James A. McDaniel, age 66, of Leesburg, died Monday, December 9, 2002 at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital in Washington C.H. He was born January 8, 1936 in Cheshire, Ohio, the son of the late George and Virginia Artie (Bartrum) McDaniel. He was a member of the Chapel of Hope Church in Greenfield, a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the Leesburg American Legion Post #568. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Vera (Tolle) McDaniel; his children Ballard (JoHonna) McDaniel of Lebanon, Shawna Saylers of Leesburg, Andrea (Tommy) Adams of Leesburg, Brenda (Robbie Cox) Landrum of Highland, Brian (Teresa) Williams of Lebanon, Amanda (Mike) Stratton of Leesburg, and three children Linda, David and Brenda from a previous marriage; four sisters Wanda (Jimmy) Tolle of Leesburg, Mary (Frank) Hawley of Columbus, Martha (Bill) Frye of Michigan, Wilm Wyman of Pomeroy; one brother Butch (Jonola) McDaniel of Leesburg, and several grand and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers George, Paul and Doc McDaniel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2002 at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg. Randy Abbott will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg. Military honors will be provided by the Highland County Honor Guard.
