Opal A. McCarty, 92, of Kettering, formerly of Lynchburg, died Tuesday evening, March 2, 2004 at the Kettering Medical Center. Born on July 19, 1911 in Oldtown, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Ed and Jesse Calahan Rayburn. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Dale McCarty of Jamestown, Vivian Lois Morris of Centerville, Kermit Gale McCarty of Beavercreek and Bonnie Lou Howe of Bellbrook, one brother, Hubert Rayburn of Argillite, KY, and four sisters, Wilma Conley of Lloyd, KY, Dorothy Litteral of Argillite, KY, Ida Allen of Francisville, IN, Blanche Allen of Ashland, KY, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Including her parents, her husband Buel McCarty who died on October 7, 1947, a infant son, Gary Lee McCarty, and four brothers, Paul, Bill, Jesse and Tom Rayburn, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg with Rev. Calvin Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Northview Dr, Apt 7C, Hillsboro, OH 45133.
