Lowell Magee, age 75, of Leesburg, formerly of Hillsboro, died Saturday, March 15, 2003 at the Highland County District Hospital. He was born June 16, 1927 in London, Kentucky, the son of the late Dave and Eliza Benge Magee. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during W.W. II. He had been associated with Magee’s Restaurant in Hillsboro for over 40 years, and a former member of the Hillsboro Eagles #1161 and the Hillsboro Elks Lodge #361. He is survived by his wife Carolyn (Walker) Magee, to whom he married July 16, 1967; four children, David Magee and his wife Beth, of Leesburg, Steve Magee of Hillsboro, Chris Magee of Leesburg, and Sarah Magee of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Samantha, Sabrina, Caleb and Ashley; two sisters, Lorene (William E.) Burdette of Hillsboro, and Retha (Jim) Lynch of Pensacola, Florida; and one brother Denver Magee of Richmond, Virginia. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step-mother Sarah (Peck) Magee; four brothers Leslie, Elbert, J.S., and Lyle Magee; and one sister Jewel McTavish. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at the Turner& Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. The Rev. Max Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery.
