Franklin A. Lowe, Sr., was born on August 7, 1925 in
Maysville, Kentucky to the late Samuel A. and Kathleen Hamm Lowe.
He passed away on Sunday, March 19th, 2006 at 11:20 AM at the
age of 80 and one half years. He leaves behind, Juanita, his wife of nearly 60 years, his
daughter, Mary and her husband Darryl Collier of Tipp City; his son, Frank Lowe
and his wife Kit of Hillsboro, his daughter, LeAnn and her husband Steve Newman
of Chillicothe and his son-in-law, Charles Jack Seymour of Hillsboro.
He also leaves his sister, Juanita Goolsby and her husband, Charles, of
Batavia, Ohio. He is also survived
by 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to Franklin’s parents, his brother, Clinton
P. Lowe, Sr., his daughter, Marilyn J. Seymour and two grandchildren, Samuel J.
and Jacqueline J. Seymour, preceded him in death.
Franklin has been a part of the Hillsboro Community for 41
years and of course, his parents many years before him.
The Lowe family was known in the community as builders and painters.
Franklin owned his own paint-contracting firm.
Franklin had first attended the United Brethren Church of
his parents, then found a church home and was a member of the First Baptist
Church. He attended the New Life
Fellowship and was involved with the Bible give-a-way program at the Highland
County Fair. Franklin loved Bible
Study of every denomination and therefore attended many churches throughout the
area. He was a lifetime member of
the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International.
Not only will a large circle of friends and family in this
area sadly miss Mr. Lowe, but also people around the world became acquainted
with him through his correspondence and conversations from his home via the
Internet. He was always reaching
out to others.
Franklin’s services will be held at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Friday Morning, March 24th, at 11:00 a..m. The Rev. Don Young will officiate. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery on U. S. 50 west of Hillsboro. The visitation will be on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m..
