Pauline Jayne Lewis age 84, of Blanchester died Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. She was born February 18, 1918 in Paintsville, Ky. the daughter of the late Andy and Dena Pendleton Jayne. She was a graduate of Lynchburg High School, a member of the Blanchester Church of Christ, and a member of the American Legion Post 179 Auxiliary. On June 3, 1941 she married Normand E. Lewis in Catlettsburg, Ky. who preceded her in death February 12, 2002. Together they owned and operated Lewis’ Restaurant in Blanchester in the early 40’s and Lewis Jewelry Store in Lynchburg until they retired in 1976. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Normand Lynn and Glenda Lewis, two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynda and Jim Griswold, and Dena and Wayne Clifton all of Blanchester; five grandchildren, Jodi (Tom) Vogel, Mandi (Roger) Buerkle, Krissy Lewis, Josh and Tim Clifton; two great grandchildren, Roger and Angelina Buerkle; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ella and William Cuesta of Orlando, FL., Ruby and Sid Wallace of North Augusta, S.C., and Cynthia and Lawrence Creamer of Jacksonville, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Carabell Jayne of Buena Visita, OH, and Mildred Drumheller of Avon Park, FL.; a large number of nieces and nephews and host of friends. Including her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, Charles, Rollie, Hubert and Hobert Jayne. Graveside services were held 9:00 A.M. Thursday, March 28, 2002 at the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Ed Bousman officiated. There was no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Perpetual Care Fund of the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery, P.O. Dear Normand, Lynda and Dena: Its with the deepest sorrow that in so short a time we again have to offer our sympathies to you folks in another of your great losses. We feel empathy for what you must be going through. We can only take some measure of relief in the knowledge that they are again together as they had spent so many of their years here and also in a much happier and peaceful place.
