Joe A. Lewis age 70 of Hillsboro died Friday, January 5, 2007 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1936 in Leslie, County, Kentucky the son of the late Garland and Beulah Widner Lewis. Mr. Lewis had worked in production setup for the Randall Textron Company in Wilmington for many years. He was a member of the Highland County Coonhunters. He is survived by one daughter, Sherri (Bud) Barrett of Hillsboro, three sons, Christopher (Katy) Lewis of Hillsboro, Scott (Heidemarie) Lewis of Wilmington, Marcus (Donna) Lewis of Hillsboro, ten grandchildren, Brandon Barrett, Brittany Barrett, Cody Curlonis, Jerrod Hoaglin, Chelsea Heifner, Ryan Lewis, Emma Lewis, Ethan Lewis, Evan Lewis and Erin Lewis, two sisters, Linda (Johnny) Curry of Eolia, Kentucky and Wilma Lewis of Chicago, Illinois. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on July 12, 2004 by his wife, Ann Richmond Lewis whom he married on September 7, 1957 in Hillsboro. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Larry, Everett and Thomas Lewis. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9th at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Richard Burns will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Care Hospice, P. O. Box 123, Wilmington, Ohio 45177 or to the American Cancer Society, 5378-a Cox-Smith Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
