J. Knauff,
age 86, of
Hillsboro, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at her residence with her family by
her side. She was born December 10, 1923, in Adams County, Ohio the daughter of
the late Joel T. and Minta Mae Storer Hart. She was a 1943 Graduate of Belfast
High School. After raising her family she went to work as a cook for the
Hillsboro City Schools and The Wooden Spoon restaurant. She is survived by
seven children, Donna Burris of Hillsboro, Gloria (Kenneth Weaver) Burris of
Hillsboro, Marsha Wilson of Springfield, Kathy Knauff of Hillsboro, Kelly
(Debbie) Knauff of Seaman, Dean (Misty) Knauff of Hillsboro, and Jeanette (John)
Seymour of Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two sisters,
Norma Stump of Washington C.H., and Christina (Bobby) Smith of Jeffersonville;
two brothers, John (Thelma) Hart of Tennessee, and James (Charlotte) Hart, Sr.
of Buford; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is
preceded in death by her husband Forrest E. Knauff who died August 1, 1985;
siblings, Viola Gillespie, Ethel Igo, Hobart Hart, Arlena Hart and Byron “Bud”
Hart; grandson James Seymour; and two great grandchildren, Calley and Caleb
Allen. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at
the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Rev. Tom Zile will officiate. Burial
will follow in the Dunn’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00
p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
