John F. Jones, age 68, of the Rainsboro Community, died Sunday, August 10, 2003 at his residence. He was born November 16, 1934 in Bainbridge, Ohio the son of Raymond Thomas and Edna M. (Elliott) Jones. He had retired in 1995 from the Chillicothe Correctional Institute where he had been a corrections officer; was formerly employed at Highland District Hospital in the Security Department, and Crop Production Services in Bainbridge; he was a life member of Luther Griffin Post #14 American Legion, Bainbridge, where he had served as Post Adjutant and Commander; he had served as the District Commander for the 7TH District of the American Legion; he was a life member of AmVets Post #61, Hillsboro, and a life member of the V.F.W Post # 9094, Hillsboro; a member of the 40/8 Club in Washington C.H., a member of the Eagles Aerie #1161, Hillsboro; and had served on the Highland County Honor Guard. He is survived by his wife Darlene (Hall) Jones, to whom he married April 24, 1954 in Biloxi, Mississippi; is mother Edna M. Jones of Bainbridge; his children Tony (Teresa Cagg) Jones of Bainbridge, Gary Jones of Laredo, Texas, Lyle Jones of Norwalk, Connecticut, Jonneen (John) Stevens of Bainbridge, Tammie (Mike) Kingsolver of Rainsboro, and Tina (Greg) Albrecht of Hillsboro; his sister Irma Bruce of Chillicothe; his grandchildren Brick Jones, Chastity Renner, Lauren Darlene Jones, Ryan Jones, Jennifer Jones, Shane Cooper, Zack Kingsolver and Lukas Kingsolver; and his great-grandchildren Norman Renner, Guy Renner and Zachary Jones. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Thomas Jones. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at the Bainbridge Church of Christ. Robert Richardson and Dane Knapp will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery where the Highland County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at the Bainbridge Church of Christ. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Highland County, 61 E. Main Street, Wilmington, Ohio 45177.
