Alberta Mae Jewett age 78 of Hillsboro, Ohio died Sunday evening, July 16, 2006 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She was born July 27, 1927 in Hillsboro, Ohio the daughter of the late Elwood and Ellen Belle (Cumberland) Rickman. Mrs. Jewett was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Hillsboro. She had worked for the Wright Patterson Air Force Base, the RobertShaw Controls Company and had assisted several families in their own homes for many years. She is survived by one daughter, Annabell Smith of Hillsboro, four sons, David (Melanie) Johnson of Xenia, Roger (Darlene) Jewett of Colorado, Arnett Jewett of Massachusetts and Robert Jewett of Hillsboro, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, three great great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Jewett, two sons, Donald Jewett and James Charles Jewett and one brother, David S. Rickman. Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the New Hope Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church. The Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro is serving the family.
