Gertrude Leona Hudson, age 84, of Wilmington, died Thursday, February 23,
2006 at her residence. She was born
June 7, 1921, in Hillsboro, Ohio the daughter of the late Clifford and Dottie
Ruth (Trimble) Zimmerman, Sr. She
had retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base after 25 years of service in
the Military Finance Department. She
was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Christian Women’s
Prayer Band, Inspiration Choir, and was a Licensed Evangelist.
She is survived by her husband Merle S. Hudson; two daughters, Judith
(Samuel) Nevels of Wilmington, and Joyce (Terry) Kittrell of Hillsboro; three
grandchildren, Samuel Nevels Jr., Bridgett Mosqueda, and Bryon Clemons; five
great-grandchildren, Kristen Cumberland, Marco Mosqueda, Sara Mosqueda, Astasia
Clemons and Bryon Clemons II; great great-grandson Kendre Hardy; two brothers,
Danny Zimmerman and Charles Zimmerman of Hillsboro; and four sisters, Zella Mae
Cumberland, Genevieve Rickman, Sara Ruth Rockhold, and Joann Zimmerman all of
Hillsboro. In addition to her
parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin McGinnis and Clifford
Zimmerman Jr.; and three sisters, Faustina Harlan, Carolyn Zimmerman and Imogene
Nelson. Funeral services will be
1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at the New Hope Baptist Church in
Hillsboro. Rev. Michael Hudson will
officiate. Burial will follow in
the Hillsboro Cemetery. Visitation
will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2006 at Turner & Son Funeral
