
Joseph C. Houk age 84 of St. Martin, Ohio died Tuesday morning, October 8, 2002 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital. He was born March 30, 1918 near Westboro, Ohio the son of Joseph N. and Nellie G. (Moon) Houk. He was a retired employee of General Motors in Dayton. He had been a member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department for thirty-five years and had retired as assistant chief. He had been a Township Trustee for Perry Township for Nineteen years and had been a member of the Fayetteville-Perry School Board for nine years. He was a lifelong member of St. Martins Catholic Church. He is survived by on daughter, Moira McGraw of New Vienna, three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph N. and Judy Houk of St. Martin, Ray and Agnes Houk of St. Martin, Frank and Cathie Houk of Fayetteville, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Huffner Houk on May 10, 1992, one son, John P. Houk in 1967, one sister, Helen Dean, five brothers, Harold, Frank, Norman, Olin and William Houk and one great granddaughter, Lindsey Houk. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin Catholic Church. Rev. Mike Savino will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Martin Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the St. Martin Parish Hall. The Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg is serving the family.
