Roger D. Hottinger, age 60, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Hearth and Care in Greenfield. He was born April 18, 1950 in Peebles, Ohio the son of the late Chris and Faye Shoemaker Hottinger. He was a member of the Samantha Free Will Baptist Church. He is survived by three children, Roger (Becky) Hottinger, April (Jerry) McGuire, and Yvonne Hottinger, all of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Davis McGuire, Ty Hottinger, Jacob Marietta, and Jackie Marietta; Uncle and aunt Ray and Wanda Short of Peebles; cousin Jeannie (Joe) Thompson of Sardinia; and the staff who gave him loving care and many friends at Hearth and Care, especially two close friends, Hazel Morris and Ronnie Tolle. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Christine, and cousin Mike Short. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Rev. Wiley Perkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
