William R. Horne Sr. age 90 of Hillsboro, Ohio died Saturday morning December 25, 2004 at his home. He was born June 19, 1914 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Elmer and Catherine (O’Dwyer) Horne. Mr. Horne was a retired farmer. He was a U. S. Army Lieutenant serving in Korea during World War II and was a fifty-year member of the Madisonville-Madeira Masonic Lodge 419 and the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati. He is survived by his wife Kathryn (Hinds) Horne whom he had married on January 1, 1940 in Kentucky, one daughter, Mary Jane Williams of Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, two sons and daughter-in-law, William R. Jr. and Connie Horne of Hillsboro, James Horne of Hillsboro, seven grandchildren, Alan Williams of Texas, Matt Williams and Brian Williams of Kentucky, Nathan Horne, Tom Horne and Brett Horne of Hillsboro, Kathy Horne of Piqua and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Masonic Services and Scottish Rite Ring services will be held at 7:45 p.m. Cremation will follow. Interment of cremains will be held at a later date in the Sugar Tree Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland County Homeless Shelter, P. O. Box 1768, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
