Robert D. Holaday age 83 of Hillsboro died Sunday, November 28, 2004 at the Highland District Hospital.  He was born September 21, 1921 in Hillsboro, Ohio the son of the late DeWitt and Nellie (Cochran) Holaday. Mr. Holaday had been an insurance sales representative for the Western & Southern Life Insurance Company for 33 years. He was an Army veteran serving in WWII, a rank pilot and an executive officer for the search and rescue team of the Civil Air Patrol and had been a radio personality on Saturday nights with WSRW radio for twenty years. He is survived by special friends, Marva Smith of Hillsboro, Bruce Smith of Lakeside Park, Kentucky, Matthew and Kelli Rase of Hillsboro, Renee and Jeff Parry of Leesburg and Bob and Carol McFarland of Hillsboro, a sister-in-law, Eleanor Holaday of Hillsboro, a cousin, Irene Sprinkle of Hillsboro, one niece and one nephew.  In addition to his parents, his wife, Patricia L. (Garment) Holaday, on October 5, 2003, one sister, Charma Pitts and one brother, Fred Holaday preceded him in death.  Graveside services with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard will be held on Thursday, December 2 at 1 p.m. at the New Market Baptist Cemetery. The Rev. Tom Zile will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Holaday to the charity of the donor’s choice.
