Goldie Marie Hixson age 94 of Blanchester, Ohio died Thursday, November 17, 2005 at the Blanchester Care Center. She was born July 14, 1911 near Danville, Ohio the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Pearl (Vance) Blake. Mrs. Hixson was member of the Blanchester Church of Christ where she had taught Sunday school and had also been a member of the Ladies Aid. She was an eighth grade graduate of the Danville School and had been employed at Cline’s Department Store and retired from Haines Department Store in Blanchester. She is survived by one son Richard A. Hixson of Sardinia, one sister, Mildred Fawley of Hillsboro, two sisters-in-law, Florence Paris of Blanchester, and Blanche Davis of Wilmington, five grandchildren, Ricky Hixson, Renee Hixson Mortinsen, Nicholas Hixson, Jeffery Hixson and Billy Hixson, three great grandchildren, Scarlet and Grayland Hixson and Kristin Mortinsen and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert R. Hixson on November 11, 1982 and by three sisters, Lona Hixson, Vonda Wilkin and Mary Moberly. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. J. L. Runk will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hamer Township Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
