Glenn Hawthorne age 92 of Lynchburg, Ohio died Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro. He was born February 27, 1911 near Dodsonville, Ohio the son of the late Theadore “Dode” and Ida (Shaffer) Hawthorne. Mr. Hawthorne had been a lifelong farmer and along with his son Gerald had owned and operated Hawthorne Implement since 1954. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Nancy Hawthorne of Lynchburg, daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Jack Marshall of Amelia, three grandchildren, James V. Marshall of Batavia, Monica Lynn Marshall of Amelia, Joy Gaynelle Turner of Jeffersonville, Indiana and one great granddaughter, Autumn Marie Turner of Jeffersonville, Indiana. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Myrtle (Wilkin) Hawthorne on February 28, 2000, one brother, Ralph Hawthorne and one sister, Helen Grooms.  Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland County Unit of the American Cancer Society, 1100 Northview Drive, Apt. 7C, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
