Granville E. Hardin, age 82, of Hillsboro, died Monday evening, September 11, 2006 at his residence. He was born March 5, 1924 in Salt Lick, Kentucky, the son of the late Walter and Nellie (Sands) Hardin. He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro. Always a hard worker, he was an assembly worker for General Motors for many years. He thoroughly loved all wildlife, and one of his favorite pastimes was watching the many animals and birds that lived around his home. On May 24, 1947, in Dayton, he married his wife Betty Jean Hardin, who survives. He is also survived by seven sons, Dennis and his wife Loraine Hardin of Pahrump, Nevada, Dave and his wife Susan Hardin of Las Vegas, Nevada, Daniel and his wife Ruthie Mae Hardin of Dayton, Douglas and his wife Valentina Hardin of Hillsboro, Duane Hardin of Dayton, Derrick and his wife Holly Hardin of Waynesville, Dominic and his wife Tami Hardin of Hillsboro, two daughters, Doris Van Bibber of Tampa, Florida, and Delores and her husband Steve Chapman of Beavercreek, one brother, Frank (Sandy) Hardin of Salt Lick, Kentucky, twenty five grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. Funeral services for Granville will be 12:00 noon Saturday, September 16, 2006 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Father Mike Paranuik will officiate. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. On Monday, September 18, 2006 funeral services for Mr. Hardin will be 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home in Salt Lick Kentucky. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery in Salt Lick. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the Powell Funeral Home in Salt Lick.
